SunSense Awareness Campaign Continues to Strike Gold - Sunsense

SunSense has won a Gold Award at the POPAI 2015 Marketing at Retail Awards for its “We’re frying out here” campaign.

In October 2014 SunSense partnered with Andrew Hankin to create a giant frying pan artwork at Sculpture by the Sea to help raise awareness of the need to help protect your skin from sun damage, with a broad spectrum, high SPF sunscreen. The artwork titled ‘we’re frying out here’ was put on display at Tamarama Beach in Sydney and asked Australian’s to stop and think about the harmful effects the sun can have on our skin and the need to ‘cook’ ourselves at the beach.

POPAI is the only global, not-for-profit association exclusively advocating for Retail and Shopper Marketing. SunSense was awarded Gold under the category of Physical Store for Health & Beauty – Temporary Displays.

SunSense brand manager, Demelza West says “The powerful message behind the sculpture is intrinsically linked to the values of SunSense. We hope that by bringing this message to life in such a big way, it will resonate with beach goers to take care at the beach and use broad spectrum sunscreen with a very high SPF, especially with summer just around the corner.”

The sculpture left a big impact on beach goers, with many uploading their photos with the sculpture to Instagram using #werefryingouthere. The SunSense Frying Pan even made the front page of the Sydney Morning Herald – a great achievement!
